Trash the Dress - Amanda
Driving into the shop on a beautifully foggy day in November I couldn’t help but daydream about trashing my dress. As soon as I walked in the shop I knew I needed the start this project RIGHT NOW. I asked Amanda to run outside and help me for just a few minutes.
Thankfully, she said yes! Amanda is a badass babe! She’s an instructor at The WorcShop, a metal artisan, and a farmer/owner/founder at more than one farm in Central Massachusetts. She’s most likely to be seen wearing work pants & boots, so when I walked into the shop and asked her for a few minutes of her time, I wasn’t sure what to expect. She’s a wonderful human though, and despite her aversion to wedding dresses, she knew I needed to start this project and was happy to lend some emotional support. It was also her suggestion to try to get as many people to help me trash this dress as possible.
See, this dress was purchased by me back in 2011, for a wedding that I was in denial about never going to happen. I had planned on selling it and using the money to treat myself to some delicious sweet potato sushi with My Love, but when I dug it out of my Grandmother’s closet, it had been damaged by mice. The next best thing was to trash it. I kinda loved the idea of adding as many people as possible as models for this project.
So, I have to ask, want to help me trash this dress? EMail me!! Jess@TrueLifePics.com
((I’ll be telling my story soon in my own blog post, so keep an eye out!))
PS: Thank you for being an amazing human, Amanda! I truly appreciate you!! Here's my favorite behind the scenes picture from this set of Amanda & her Partner. It was rather chilly, so between shots, I had Josh snuggle Amanda in his coat so she wouldn't freeze! This is probably one of my favorite pictures from 2018!
