Our very first trip to Plum Island
Our very first trip to Plum Island was actually an accident. We were members of the Mass Audubon Society and decided to visit the Joppa Flats Nature Sanctuary. We thought we could be on the beach, we were wrong. It is on the ocean, and you can see the ocean from the nature center, but there is not a beach attached.
The wonderful people at the NatureCenter told us about Sandy Point, a state reservation on Plum Island where you can get to the beach. It was so beautiful and we had such a great time. We have been back to Plum Island at least once a year since.
